Paraguay Warns of Severe Weather, Including Hail and Strong Winds

Paraguay's Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) has issued a weather alert, warning of "severe weather phenomena" expected across several departments. The forecast includes heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong wind gusts, with a significant possibility of hail.

The DMH stated that "storm cells associated with a convective system persist and are intensifying" over the national territory. This intensification leads to the expectation of severe weather events throughout the afternoon. The alert covers the central and southern areas of the Oriental Region.

Seven specific departments are listed as being affected by these conditions: the Southwest of Guairá, the West of Caazapá, the Center and West of Itapúa, Misiones, the Center and South of Paraguarí, the South of Central, and Ñeembucú. A detailed meteorological map of Paraguay showing atmospheric conditions has been provided by the DMH.

This severe weather warning follows recent forecasts of warm days with scattered showers in Ciudad del Este. Residents in the affected departments are advised to stay informed and take necessary precautions.
