Paraguayan Drivers Ortiz and Aguilera Take Second in Argentina Rally

Paraguayan rally drivers Arturo Ortiz and Víctor Aguilera achieved a podium finish, securing second place in the RC4 category at the traditional Rally del Poncho. The event, held in Catamarca, Argentina, was the fourth round of the 2026 Argentine Rally Championship.

Competing in a Peugeot 208 Rally4 from the Saba Competición team, Ortiz and Aguilera navigated the notoriously challenging mountain roads of Catamarca. This region, located over 1,000 kilometers from Asunción, is known for its demanding terrain and unforgiving stages, presenting a stark contrast to the rally routes typically found in Paraguay.

Despite being more accustomed to national-level competitions, the Paraguayan duo demonstrated strong performance and adaptability. They successfully managed the difficult surfaces and steep climbs, overcoming blind corners that leave no room for error. Their efforts saw them finish second among eight crews in the RC4 category after completing eleven of the twelve scheduled special stages, with one stage being canceled.

The support from the experienced Saba Competición team, led by Gustavo Saba, was crucial in enduring the rigors of the Catamarca routes. Ortiz and Aguilera proudly represented Paraguay, showcasing their skill and determination on a demanding international stage.
