Paraguayan fitness expert Víctor René Scheid joins Guatemala's CSD Sacachispas

Experienced Paraguayan fitness coach Víctor René Scheid has joined CSD Sacachispas, bolstering the team's technical staff for the upcoming Torneo Apertura 2026 in Guatemala's First Division. At 59 years old, Scheid brings a wealth of international experience to the Guatemalan league, where he will work alongside head coach Marlon Iván León.

Scheid, originally from Encarnación, Paraguay, has spent eight seasons coaching in Central American top divisions and previously worked with Paraguay's U-20 national team under Ernesto Mastrángelo. His resume includes stints with notable Guatemalan clubs such as Suchitepéquez, Cobán Imperial, and Xelajú, as well as Alianza FC in El Salvador. This marks his seventh cycle in the Guatemalan league.

Scheid expressed confidence in the club's ambitions, stating that the board's objective is to contend for the title this year. The challenge will be significant in a league that recently crowned Xelajú, and features strong teams like Comunicaciones and Municipal, the latter coached by fellow Paraguayan José Saturnino Cardozo. Scheid's integration aims to elevate Sacachispas' performance and competitiveness in the upcoming season.
