Paraguayans compete in Europe's three club competitions

Paraguayan football talent will be showcased across Europe's top three club competitions this season, with players featuring in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League. This marks a significant presence for Paraguayan athletes on the continental stage.

Goalkeeper Orlando Gill is set to compete in the Champions League with French club Lille. He faces a challenging schedule, with Lille drawn against formidable opponents such as Bayern Munich, Real Betis, Slovan Bratislava, and Galatasaray, alongside away fixtures against Arsenal, Roma, Stuttgart, and Bodø/Glimt. This presents a major opportunity for Gill to test his skills against some of Europe's elite clubs.

In the Europa League, defender Omar Alderete will represent English side Sunderland. Their path includes home matches against AZ Alkmaar, Dinamo Zagreb, Jagiellonia Białystok, and Levski Sofia, as well as away games against AC Milan, Lech Poznan, Anderlecht, and Torreense. A notable fixture will be their away match against the powerful Italian club AC Milan.

Meanwhile, midfielder Diego Gómez will play in the Conference League for Brighton & Hove Albion. Brighton's campaign includes home games against AS Monaco, Universitatea Craiova, and FK Žalgiris, and away ties against Panathinaikos, Getafe, and Jablonec. The new European season introduces a revamped format, featuring a league phase where teams play eight matches in the Champions League and Europa League, and six in the Conference League, followed by playoffs for knockout stages.
