Parliament to Hold Special Sitting in Honour of Gen Moses Ali

Parliament is set to convene a special sitting on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to pay tribute to the late General (Rtd) Moses Ali. The session is dedicated to honoring the former Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business, who recently passed away.

During the special session, Members of Parliament are expected to reflect on Gen. Ali's life and extensive career. His legacy as a legislator, Cabinet minister, military officer, and a key figure in Uganda's public service for many decades will be recognized. Gen. Ali, who represented Adjumani West County for many years, was one of the country's most experienced political leaders.

Parliament has extended an invitation to the public and all stakeholders to follow the proceedings as lawmakers honor the veteran statesman. The session aims to acknowledge his significant contributions to national development and public service throughout his career. Following the tributes, the House is expected to adjourn to allow for final respects to be paid.
