PAS-owned PUTIK center wall catches fire in Pengkalan Chepa

A section of a wall at the PUTIK Islamic Study Center, a building owned by the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) in Pengkalan Chepa, caught fire on Tuesday night. The incident, which began around 9:30 p.m., affected approximately 37.16 square meters of the wall. Raja Roslan Raja Yaacob, the center's supervisor, stated that he was alerted by the security guard on duty and immediately contacted the fire department. He confirmed that the fire did not spread to other parts of the building and is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Firefighters from the Pengkalan Chepa Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the emergency call. Commander Fadhely Zakaria reported that 20 personnel were dispatched and managed to bring the fire under full control within eight minutes of their arrival. The fire department arrived at 10:31 p.m. and extinguished the blaze by 10:39 p.m.
