‘Pawn Stars’ star Rick Harrison hospitalized after emergency bypass surgery

Rick Harrison went to hospital for what was expected to be a routine stent procedure. During the operation, doctors found a more serious problem and performed emergency bypass surgery instead.

The “Pawn Stars” star is now in stable condition and resting comfortably, according to a spokesperson for the Harrison family. He has thanked the doctors and hospital staff who treated him, while his wife, Angie, and other family members remain with him.

A bypass creates a new route for blood to reach the heart by going around a blocked or obstructed coronary artery. The family spokesperson said Harrison is expected to make a full recovery.

Harrison became internationally known through “Pawn Stars,” the reality show about his family’s Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. The series debuted in 2009 and follows the family as they negotiate over items brought in by customers, including objects with historical value.

The Harrison family has also faced loss in recent years. Richard Benjamin Harrison, known as “The Old Man” and one of the show’s best-loved figures, died in 2018 at age 77. Before his hospitalization, Rick Harrison continued public appearances, including a May 2026 visit to Washington, D.C., for the White House Small Business Summit, where President Donald Trump praised him.
