PBNU Finalizes Preparations for National Conference and Congress in Kediri

The central board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) is in the final stages of preparing for its National Conference of Scholars (Munas Alim Ulama) and Grand Congress (Konbes). These key meetings are scheduled to take place at the Al Falah Islamic boarding school in Ploso, Kediri, East Java, from June 20 to 21, 2026.

Saifullah Yusuf, the General Secretary of PBNU, also known as Gus Ipul, stated that intensive communication has been established with the Al Falah pesantren to ensure the smooth execution of the events. He conveyed his gratitude to the pesantren's leadership and students for their diligent preparations, noting that their efforts significantly ease the burden on the central board.

We are very grateful to all the Gus-Gus here, all the students here, for preparing well, and this certainly eases the burden on the central board of Nahdlatul Ulama.

A primary agenda item for the Munas and Konbes will be the preparations for the larger Muktamar, which is planned for August 2026. The specific location for this major gathering has not yet been decided, and it will be a subject of discussion during the upcoming conferences. Several regions have already expressed their willingness to host the Muktamar.

Gus Ipul also mentioned that PBNU is inspecting the readiness of facilities and infrastructure at the event venue. He expressed hope for a orderly and successful proceedings. PBNU leadership, including Rais 'Aam K.H. Miftachul Akhyar and Wakil Rais 'Aam K.H. Anwar Iskandar, were present during the visit to the pesantren.
