PDP zones Bayelsa East senate ticket to Brass LGA

In a move aimed at fostering unity and ensuring equitable representation, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State has reaffirmed its commitment to the established zoning and rotation formula for the Bayelsa East Senatorial District. The party leadership and stakeholders have officially zoned the 2027 senatorial ticket to Brass Constituency II, with Nembe Constituency II slated to receive the ticket in 2031. This decision reflects a deep-seated understanding of the district's political dynamics and a desire to maintain stability.

This carefully considered arrangement ensures that all state constituencies within the Bayelsa East Senatorial District will have had the opportunity to produce a senator under the existing rotational system by 2031. The PDP's Media Assistant, Kelvin Loveday-Egbo, highlighted the historical progression of this rotation, which has been in place since 1999. The rotation later returned to Ogbia with Senator Clever Ikisikpo of Ogbia Constituency III, then moved to Brass through Senator Ben Murray-Bruce of Brass Constituency III, and subsequently to Nembe with Senator Degi Ereminyo of Nembe Constituency III. The current occupant of the seat, Senator Benson Agadaga, is from Ogbia Constituency II.
