Pedestrian Overpass Between Kaohsiung's Guoling Park and Chengcing Lake to Be Lifted; Songyi Road to Close Evening of 16th

A steel pedestrian overpass connecting Kaohsiung's Guoling Park and Chengcing Lake is set to undergo lifting operations, prompting a road closure. The Kaohsiung Public Works Bureau's New Construction Office announced that the lifting work is scheduled for the evening of June 16, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning. The operation will be postponed in case of rain.

During the construction period, Songyi Road will be completely closed to traffic. Traffic control personnel will be stationed at the intersections of Yuanshan Road and Songyi Road, as well as Bade South Road and Songyi Road, to manage vehicle access. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

For residents in the northern Renwu District, detours via Wenqian Road to Huanhu Road or Renyong Road to Renci Road are recommended. Those in the southern Niaosong District should use Yuanshan Road to Chengcing Road or Qiuchang Road to Dachang Road. These diversions are intended to ensure the safety and smooth execution of the lifting operation.

The Public Works Bureau acknowledged that Songyi Road is a vital artery connecting Sanmin, Niaosong, and Renwu districts, experiencing heavy traffic flow daily. To reduce inconvenience for commuters, the construction is scheduled for nighttime hours. Information regarding the road closure will be broadcasted by the Police Radio Station to remind drivers to plan their routes in advance. Alternative routes suggested include Bade South Road, Wenqian Road, Renyong Road, Yuanshan Road, or Qiuchang Road.
