Peggy’s journey to becoming a UBSI student, from fearing college to earning a full scholarship

Peggy Lalita is in her third semester studying communications at Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika’s Slipi campus in West Jakarta, while also working across Indonesia’s creative industry. Her schedule includes modeling, brand-talent work, filming and promotional assignments at events such as the Jakarta Fair.

Rather than treating the demands of work and university as a burden, Peggy sees them as a way to develop herself. She says UBSI’s flexible hybrid system, which combines online and in-person classes, helps her manage a busy routine.

I have quite a lot of activities outside, as it turns out. But thankfully, studying at UBSI is very flexible.

Peggy’s path at the university gained momentum when she joined the BSI Talent Squad. The program recognizes talented students and prepares them to represent UBSI as campus brand ambassadors in the digital era.

The scholarship starts at 25%, and then the percentage increases over time according to the KPI.

The scholarship attached to the program is evaluated through key performance indicators. Students initially receive 25%, with the percentage rising over time according to their performance. Peggy says her work as a content creator and host, along with her participation in campus and outside events, eventually earned her a full scholarship.

“Thank God, I’ve now received 100% as well. I can study on a scholarship without having to worry about the cost,” she said. Peggy described the flexibility of her studies as especially valuable while she continues taking freelance work.
