Penghu International Maritime Fireworks Festival Trial Run Held; Drone Show to Debut at Opening Ceremony

Penghu is not just an island; it is an international tourist city being recognized by the world. Here, we not only witness dazzling fireworks but also the energy and confidence of Penghu continuously shining on the global stage. The 24th iteration of the Fireworks Festival has evolved from a local celebration into one of Taiwan's most representative international tourism brands.

The Penghu County Government continues to pursue the goals of 'branding, internationalization, and four-season appeal,' ensuring that Penghu's tourism is not confined to peak season activities but becomes a destination worth visiting throughout the year. This year's festival officially opens on May 4th and runs until August 25th, featuring a total of 33 fireworks displays across the main venue at Guanyinting, outer islands like Wang'an, Cimei, and Jibei, as well as local sites in Huxi, Xiyu, and Baisha.

In terms of content, this year deepens the strategy of 'using events to drive local development,' integrating local activities such as the Baisha anchovy season, Huxi wind-art music festival, and Xiyu journey. Innovation through cross-industry collaboration is also a key focus, with a first-time partnership with the internationally renowned IP 'Dragon Ball Z' for the 'Penghu Summer Fireworks Festival.' This collaboration will transform the entire Penghu into an immersive themed island through large-scale art installations, themed scenes, and interactive experiences. Four large FRP installations—Majin Buu at the airport welcome, Goku at Guanyinting, Cell at Sanshi-gao, and Frieza at the Cross-Sea Bridge—will connect Magong, Baisha, and Xiyu, shaping a complete tourism route and travel experience.
