Perodua Concept Car C2 Inspired by Malay Motif 'Bunga Pecah Lapan'

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn. Bhd. (Perodua) has introduced its latest concept car, the Chapter 2, or C2, drawing inspiration from the intricate traditional Malay motif known as 'bunga pecah lapan'. This initiative is part of the company's effort to present sophisticated Malay heritage to the global community.

Noor Anzari Mohd. Nor, Perodua's Chief Designer, explained that the 'bunga pecah lapan' pattern was translated into the car's body design, aiming to elevate Malay culture. "It's a shame that much of sophisticated Malay culture is not showcased at a higher level," he stated, emphasizing the desire to bring these elements to a broader audience.

The C2 is a B-segment concept car featuring advanced artificial intelligence (AI) driven assistance systems. These include real-time navigation, charging station location services, traffic updates, enhanced anti-theft features, and parking assistance. Perodua President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, who officially launched the C2 at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, described it as a representation of Perodua's vision for the future of electric vehicles (EVs).

The concept car embodies a distinct design style, incorporating the latest technology and created by young, talented designers, reflecting Perodua's forward-looking approach to mobility.
