Persib Bandung coach Igor Tolic has issued a stern directive to his squad, demanding a flawless performance in their critical AFC Champions League (ACL) II playoff match against Manila Digger. The game is set to take place at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung Regency on Monday, August 31.

Tolic's insistence stems from last season's encounter, where Persib secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory. He remembers the match being far from easy, with the opponent creating several dangerous opportunities early on. "As I recall, last year we won 2-1, but it wasn't easy. They had several chances early before we managed to score and win. I hope this year we can achieve a similar result," Tolic stated, according to the club's official website.

Analyzing Manila Digger's strengths, Tolic anticipates the Filipino team will again rely on a compact defensive organization and the speed of their players to launch counter-attacks. He considers this playing style a serious threat that David da Silva and his teammates must anticipate. Tolic acknowledged that Manila Digger has revamped its squad, releasing some players and bringing in new faces. However, he expects their fundamental playing style to remain consistent.

"They released some players and brought in new players. They are preparing to face us and are coming here to advance in the ACL," Tolic said. "We expect a similar team to last year, a tight defensive block, strong, fast players, and ready to counter-attack," he emphasized. If Persib Bandung overcomes Manila Digger and secures a spot in the group stage, they will be placed in Group E of the ACL II, where they will face formidable opponents such as FC Seoul, Melbourne City FC, and The Cong-Viettel.
