Persib Bandung's FIFA player registration ban permanently lifted

Indonesian football club Persib Bandung has received official confirmation from FIFA that its ban on registering new players has been permanently lifted. The sanction stemmed from a dispute with former coach Robert Rene Alberts over contractual obligations from 2022.

Alhamdulillah, we are grateful this process has been resolved well. After learning of FIFA's decision regarding the old case related to the 2022 period, we immediately determined the necessary steps and fulfilled the payment obligations in accordance with the applicable mechanism.

FIFA's letter, dated August 11, 2026, stated that the case is closed after the club fulfilled its payment obligations. The international football governing body has requested the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to remove the national-level ban.

Persib management expressed gratitude for the resolution, emphasizing their commitment to respecting regulatory decisions and strengthening the club's professional governance. They highlighted that settling the obligation was a priority to ensure the matter was resolved properly.
