Pertamina delivers aid to 534 earthquake survivors in Indonesia's East Nusa Tenggara

Pertamina, through its subsidiary Pertamina Patra Niaga, has provided essential aid to 534 earthquake survivors in Palue District, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

The assistance, delivered on August 20-21, 2026, reached the main district post and the Rokirole Village evacuation center. It is part of the company's "Pertamina Peduli" (Pertamina Cares) initiative to support post-disaster recovery.

"Pertamina Peduli is here to help the community meet their basic needs during the post-earthquake recovery period. We hope the aid distributed can ease the burden of the survivors and support the recovery process in the affected areas," said Kitty Andhora, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga.

The aid package includes staple foods such as rice, cooking oil, bottled water, coffee, and instant noodles. Additionally, essential items like folding mattresses, blankets, towels, emergency lights, power strips, mats, soap, shampoo, sanitary pads, and baby diapers were provided.

Reaching the survivors involved a challenging journey. The Pertamina Patra Niaga team traveled from Maumere to Palue Island by ferry, a trip taking about five hours and dependent on weather conditions. Upon arrival, they continued by pickup truck for approximately one hour to reach evacuation sites, navigating roads damaged by landslides from the earthquake.

Rudolfus Riba, the head of Palue District, expressed his gratitude for the assistance. "Palue District experienced severe damage due to the earthquake. This logistical aid and basic necessities from Pertamina Patra Niaga greatly help ease the burden of our community. Thank you, God bless," he stated.

Pertamina Patra Niaga continues to coordinate with local government and relevant parties to ensure aid reaches those in need, reinforcing its commitment to supporting communities during emergencies and recovery.
