Indonesia's state energy company, Pertamina Patra Niaga, successfully fueled an Emirates Airbus A380 with 92,901 liters of aviation fuel for its flight EK359 from Jakarta to Dubai. The operation took place at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on August 8, 2026.

She stated that the fueling was conducted safely and smoothly, underscoring the company's commitment to operational excellence.

Servicing an aircraft like the A380 requires more than just fuel availability. Andhora explained that it necessitates adequate facilities, specialized equipment, and trained personnel. The Soekarno-Hatta Aviation Fuel Terminal is equipped with hydrant dispensers capable of delivering 2,500 to 4,000 liters per minute, significantly higher than the 1,000 to 1,500 liters per minute rate for narrow-body aircraft.

With their large fuel requirements, wide-body aircraft need equipment with suitable fueling capacity. System, facility and personnel readiness are key to safe, optimal operations.
