PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has confirmed that fuel stations throughout Medan and its surrounding areas in Indonesia are now operating normally. The company implemented measures to enhance distribution capacity after observing a significant increase in fuel demand over recent days.

This surge in consumption, estimated at a 5-10% rise compared to daily averages, is attributed to the resumption of school and office activities, leading to increased public mobility. To address this, Pertamina Patra Niaga expedited its distribution efforts. "We immediately increased distribution capacity by adding fuel tanker fleets, strengthening distribution personnel, and optimizing operations so that services at the gas stations have returned to normal," stated Kitty Andhora, VP Corporate Communication of Pertamina Patra Niaga.

The company bolstered its operational fleet by adding 10 dedicated fuel tankers and 30 spot charter tankers. Additionally, 34 drivers from nearby Fuel Terminals and 16 personnel from Bekangdam were deployed to strengthen distribution teams. Pertamina Patra Niaga also emphasized its commitment to maintaining safety and compliance standards through ongoing training and disciplinary actions for operational partners.

To further expedite fuel delivery, the Fuel Terminal Medan and select gas stations are now operating 24 hours a day. These efforts have proven effective, with fuel distribution on July 14, 2026, reaching 104% of the daily target, utilizing 115% of the available tanker fleet.
