Peru Expresses Solidarity with Spain and France Over Devastating Wildfires

Peru has conveyed its solidarity and support to Spain and France as both nations battle devastating wildfires. The Peruvian government expressed deep concern over the "devastating" fires that have ravaged tens of thousands of hectares and necessitated the evacuation of approximately 330,000 people across both countries.

In a statement, Peru's government extended its condolences to the families of victims in Spain, reaffirming friendship and solidarity. The fires in Spain have burned 77,000 hectares, with 153,000 hectares affected by large wildfires since the start of the year. The largest wildfire on record in Spain, with 50,000 hectares burned, occurred in the province of Ávila.

Similarly, Peru's Foreign Ministry offered solidarity to France, acknowledging the emergency situation caused by fires affecting various regions. The fires have compromised public safety, caused loss of life, and damaged natural and material resources. Peru conveyed condolences to victims' families and expressed confidence in France's resilience.

France has seen 115,000 hectares consumed by wildfires this year, setting new historical records. The Peruvian government affirmed the "deep bonds of friendship and cooperation" between the two nations, trusting that France will overcome the crisis with its characteristic strength and unity.
