Peruvian Navy opens 2027 admissions for Naval School, detailing requirements and benefits

The Peruvian Navy has officially launched its admissions process for the 2027 academic year at the Naval School. This initiative invites young individuals interested in pursuing a career as officers within the institution to apply. The application period will remain open until August 14. The program offers comprehensive military, academic, and professional training, providing a pathway for graduates to join various units and departments of the Peruvian Navy. Aspiring candidates must meet a set of stringent requirements related to nationality, age, health, and academic background, as defined by the Naval Forces. Captain Sandro Canales Martínez, head of the Naval School's Academic Training Department, noted the intense competition, with the school typically receiving between 1,000 and 1,500 applications for approximately 100 available spots each year. To be considered, applicants must meet specific criteria, including being Peruvian by birth or descent, being between 15 and 21 years old (with specific age cutoffs), and being in good physical and mental health. They must not have been dismissed from educational institutions or the armed forces for disciplinary reasons. Additionally, applicants must be single, without children or dependents, have completed or be in their final year of secondary education, meet minimum height requirements (1.58m for women, 1.68m for men), and not belong to political parties. They must also possess a valid electronic DNI. The Naval School offers four entry modalities: Tercio Superior (for top-performing students), International Baccalaureate, University Provenance (for those who have completed at least one year of university with a minimum GPA of 14), and the General Modality for all eligible candidates. The admission process involves seven elimination stages, beginning with a medical evaluation that screens out candidates with tattoos.
