Peter Obi has capacity to lead Nigeria, says Ebonyi NDC senatorial candidate

Prof. Ben Ifeanyi Odoh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Ebonyi Central Senatorial District, has thrown his support behind the party's presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi. Odoh described Obi as a leader possessing the capacity and integrity needed to propel Nigeria forward, citing his public service record as evidence of his capabilities.

When you look at His Excellency Peter Obi, he is a man who is difficult to fault. He is a man whose record speaks for itself and is ready to take Nigeria to greater heights.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Abakaliki, Odoh formally informed supporters of his recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the NDC candidate for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial election. He urged supporters, both domestically and abroad, to vote for the NDC in the upcoming 2027 general elections, emphasizing Obi's readiness to elevate Nigeria.

Odoh expressed deep concern over Nigeria's current economic and security crises, noting that many young Nigerians feel a lack of future prospects within the country. He lamented that workers struggle to survive on their salaries, while justice, the rule of law, and security are under severe threat, with insecurity continuing to claim lives.

Nigeria has enormous potential, but many young people no longer see a future here. Today, many workers can barely survive on their salaries. Justice, fairness and the rule of law are under serious threat, while insecurity continues to claim innocent lives.

As a former Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Geophysics, Odoh believes his academic and professional background will allow him to make significant contributions to legislation, particularly in areas such as education, solid minerals, water resources, environmental management, healthcare, technology, and food security. He stated his intention to be an active senator, vigorously pursuing policies to improve the welfare of his constituents and the state at large.
