PH Negeri Sembilan surpasses BN's 5-year investment target in just over a year

Pakatan Harapan (PH) in Negeri Sembilan has significantly outpaced the investment targets set by Barisan Nasional (BN) in its state election manifesto. PH Negeri Sembilan Chairman Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun stated that the state government secured RM19.1 billion in investments last year and nearly RM13 billion in the first half of this year. This performance, he noted, surpasses BN's manifesto goal of attracting RM30 billion over five years, a target PH claims to have met in just over a year and a half.

This shows that the RM30 billion was actually resolved by us in just one and a half years.

Aminuddin, who is also the Menteri Besar, criticized BN's RM30 billion target as insufficient, arguing it would weaken the state's revenue. He emphasized that Negeri Sembilan's current minimum annual investment target is RM10 billion, aiming for even higher figures. "If around RM30 billion for five years, it will only weaken, including the presence of investors in the state," he said.

If that is their focus for developing this state, I think we have succeeded in overcoming what they wanted to do.

The PH chairman also pointed out similarities between some of BN's proposed initiatives and those already implemented by PH. He viewed this as an acknowledgment of PH's successful track record. "It shows their recognition of what we have done, we have no problem if they want to do it, but more importantly, we want the people to see that what we have done is recognized by BN," Aminuddin added.

I feel they are not looking closely enough at their target to achieve the investment amount in this state.

PH election director Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari echoed these sentiments, suggesting BN's manifesto lacked thoroughness and ambition. He claimed BN's targets were either already met or close to being met by PH, indicating a lack of proper research. "We have better and more realistic offers that are challenging for us to implement. This is something the government wants to do, which is to offer something we want to achieve better," Amirudin stated.
