Phú Mỹ Hưng Mid-Autumn Festival 2026

Children and families will gather at P2 Park in Phú Mỹ Hưng on September 19, 2026, for an afternoon and evening of Mid-Autumn activities. The festival will run from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Trần Văn Trà Street in Tân Hưng Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The program will recreate familiar elements of a traditional Vietnamese full-moon celebration. After performances featuring Chị Hằng and Chú Cuội, children will take part in a mooncake-breaking ceremony before joining a lantern procession. Lion-dance drums and glowing lanterns will accompany the parade through the residential area.

Two creative contests will form part of the event. Children aged 5 to 12 can work in teams of two to four to make and decorate star lanterns from bamboo frames and colored cellophane supplied by the organizers. Teams will have 60 minutes to complete their lanterns and two minutes to explain their ideas. The contest offers total prizes worth more than 8 million dong and is limited to 30 teams.

A second contest, organized with Global Art Vietnam, invites children aged 5 to 15 to draw on the theme “Moonlight of Creativity.” The festival will also offer folk games such as tug of war and sack races. Admission is free for children and families.
