Phu Quoc Leader Honors War Heroes' Families Ahead of Martyrs Day

Phu Quoc, Vietnam – Dinh Van Noi, who holds dual roles as Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and Party Secretary of the Phu Quoc Special Zone, led a delegation on July 22 to visit and present gifts to families of martyrs and wounded soldiers. The visit, held ahead of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, underscored the province's commitment to honoring those who sacrificed for national independence.

The Party, State, and people always remember and are immensely grateful for the great contributions and sacrifices of previous generations for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

During the visits, Noi engaged with the families, inquiring about their well-being and listening to their concerns. He affirmed the nation's enduring gratitude for the immense contributions and sacrifices of previous generations. Noi stressed that caring for individuals with meritorious service and their families is a continuous priority, directing relevant agencies and local authorities to expedite efforts in identifying and resolving any challenges faced by wounded soldiers and policy beneficiary families.

He emphasized the need to ensure prompt and full implementation of preferential policies and to provide comprehensive care for the material and spiritual lives of those who have served the revolution. The families expressed their gratitude for the delegation's visit and pledged to continue upholding the nation's revolutionary traditions and contributing to Phu Quoc's development.

Caring for people with meritorious service and policy beneficiary families has always been a trọng tâm, regular, and continuous task.

Phu Quoc is currently home to 606 martyr families with 658 martyrs, 55 individuals receiving monthly survivor benefits, and 455 families honoring martyrs. The special zone also has 134 wounded soldiers, 26 disabled veterans, 19 individuals with meritorious service, 21 former political prisoners, and 38 individuals exposed to chemical toxins during the war. The area has recognized 54 deceased mothers of heroes and three individuals and four collectives as People's Armed Forces Heroes.
