Phuc Son's Nha Trang Airport Project: Hundreds of Buyers Demand Land Handover

Hundreds of homebuyers in Khánh Hòa province are demanding justice and the handover of land they purchased nearly a decade ago at the former Nha Trang airport, a project developed by the Phúc Sơn Group. These investors, numbering around 200, have found their pleas for dialogue with the company met with silence, highlighting a growing frustration with the developer's evasiveness.

The provincial authorities are now stepping in, attempting to bridge the gap between the aggrieved buyers and the Phúc Sơn Group. While the company has been reluctant to engage directly, the Khánh Hòa Provincial People's Committee has facilitated meetings, encouraging investors to formalize their grievances through petitions. This move aims to provide a basis for provincial leaders and the Military Court of Military Region 5 to intervene and protect the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens.

The situation is further complicated by an ongoing criminal case. The Military Court of Military Region 5 has already handed down a preliminary sentence to nine individuals, including Phúc Sơn Group's CEO, Nguyễn Văn Hậu, in connection with violations of land management regulations and fraud. The court ordered Hậu to repay over 7.03 trillion VND (approximately $300 million USD) to 686 customers who had entered into 982 contracts for land at the project. This legal entanglement underscores the severity of the alleged wrongdoings and the significant financial distress faced by the investors.
