Pingtung Magistrate Channels 'Pikmin' for Unique Graduation Blessings

Pingtung County Magistrate Chou Chun-mi embraced a playful persona, dressing as a character from the popular game "Pikmin Bloom" to deliver graduation wishes to students across the county. This marks the fourth consecutive year she has creatively produced a graduation video to connect with students.

The video, which featured Chou Chun-mi as a "Pikmin" character navigating challenges such as "class mushroom," "final exam mushroom," and "early morning mushroom," was shown at the Renai Elementary School graduation ceremony. The engaging and humorous content elicited cheers and laughter from the graduating students.

Unable to attend every school's ceremony due to legislative sessions, Chou Chun-mi explained that the video was a way to extend her blessings to all high school, middle school, and elementary school graduates. She encouraged the students to embrace their new beginnings with determination, courage, and curiosity, urging them to explore the world and bloom brightly in their future endeavors.

Chou also highlighted the county government's commitment to education, mentioning initiatives like providing fresh milk to all classes and the upcoming universal subsidy for school lunch fees. The county is also promoting digital learning with the goal of providing every student with a tablet and is expanding international exchange programs to foster global perspectives and competitiveness among students.

The Renai Elementary School graduation ceremony itself was themed "Space Journey," with Principal Lin Chun-chih, dressed as a captain, leading the 206 graduates as space cadets. They reported the completion of their six years of training to "Space Commander Chou Chun-mi," symbolizing their departure from elementary school and their embarkation on a new, exciting journey.
