PKR's reform spirit now with Rafizi, claims PAS leader Sanusi

PAS election director Muhammad Sanusi asserted that the true spirit of reform within the PKR party has shifted away from the current federal leadership. He believes this spirit now resides with former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.

Sanusi welcomed the establishment of Parti Bersama Malaysia (Bersama), a new party founded by Rafizi. He suggested that Bersama's presence could be beneficial for PAS, particularly in Kedah, by potentially fragmenting PKR's voter base. "I welcome their presence to take PKR members in Kedah, to break up PKR so they all scatter and join Bersama to revive the spirit of political reform," Sanusi stated.

He further commented on the perceived shift in political allegiance, saying, "I feel the real spirit of PKR is with Rafizi, no longer with the Prime Minister and those in the Federal Government. That spirit has moved, walked while sleeping, to Rafizi." This sentiment was expressed during a press conference in Alor Setar.

Speculation about Rafizi and Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad's political future was addressed on May 17 when both leaders were announced as taking over Bersama. The announcement occurred at a special event and was live-streamed. Rafizi, alongside Nik Nazmi, a former PKR Vice President and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, are now leading the Penang-based political party. Both have also resigned from their parliamentary seats in Pandan and Setiawangsa, which they won in the 15th General Election.
