Plateau killings: Police beef up security, vow to arrest perpetrators

Security has been significantly enhanced in the Bin'per community, located in the Bwoi-Ruf District of Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau State, following a fatal attack. The Plateau State Police Command has deployed additional resources to the area. Commissioner of Police Ayodeji Faniyan conducted an on-the-spot assessment and conveyed condolences from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who condemned the attack and ordered all necessary measures to prevent further violence. Faniyan assured the community that the police would utilize all constitutional means to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for the killings. He emphasized the command's commitment to protecting lives and property and maintaining peace throughout Plateau State. The Commissioner urged residents to cooperate by providing accurate and timely information to assist ongoing investigations. He also appealed for calm and vigilance, warning against any acts of jungle justice that could escalate tensions and hinder the pursuit of justice. Security has been strengthened in Bin'per and surrounding areas to restore confidence among the populace and prevent a recurrence of such incidents. The public is encouraged to promptly report credible information to security agencies as efforts to bolster security in the affected community and its environs continue.
