Plateau State is taking a proactive stance against the escalating climate crisis with the unveiling of a comprehensive five-year policy and action plan. This initiative, set to commence in 2026, signals a determined effort to address the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change within the state.

The plan, developed with support from the Centre for Gospel Health and Development and the Christian Blind Mission, and funded by the European Union, is described by Governor Caleb Mutfwang as a "bold roadmap." Key priorities include adaptation strategies in agriculture and water management, robust disaster risk reduction measures, and the creation of pathways for green jobs and renewable energy investments.
