PM Shehbaz directs NDMA to ensure relief for citizens in flood-hit areas

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to ensure comprehensive relief efforts for citizens in flood-affected areas. The prime minister stressed the importance of utilizing all available resources to provide assistance to those impacted by the monsoon rains.

During a meeting with NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, Sharif emphasized the need for effective coordination between the NDMA and relevant provincial institutions, including Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs). This collaboration is crucial for a streamlined and efficient response to the ongoing crisis.

The prime minister also acknowledged and appreciated the NDMA's integration of artificial intelligence and modern technology within the National Emergencies Operation Centre. This technological adoption aims to enhance the authority's operational capabilities in managing disaster response.

Lieutenant General Malik briefed the prime minister on the current weather situation and the extent of the flooding across the country. The meeting underscored the government's commitment to addressing the immediate needs of the affected population and improving disaster management strategies.
