Pogacar calls Tour de France stage win 'unforgettable' amid massive crowd support

Tadej Pogacar reinforced his grip on the Tour de France lead by winning the 14th stage, a challenging mountain ascent. The Slovenian rider expressed his deep appreciation for the overwhelming number of spectators who lined the route, cheering him on throughout the day.

"It's something unforgettable, I don't think I've ever seen so many people cheering on a Tour de France stage. It's something that will stay with me forever," Pogacar stated after the stage. He described it as a "fantastic day" where he capitalized on his team's efforts and his own strong condition, noting that his teammate Del Toro also secured second place.

Pogacar explained his winning move, launching his attack less than two kilometers from the finish line. He had recognized the climb during a prior reconnaissance and attacked with full force, while maintaining caution on the damp curves. He also commented on the strong performance of French rider Paul Seixas, who moved into fourth place, acknowledging him as a "champion" and France's "great hope."
