Pogacar wins fourth Tour de France stage, extends overall lead

Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar secured his fourth stage victory in the current Tour de France, triumphing at Le Markstein. This win not only adds to his impressive season but also marks his 25th career stage win in the prestigious race, solidifying his status among cycling legends.

With this latest success, Pogacar draws level with French cyclist André Leducq on the all-time stage wins list. He now trails only three riders: Bernard Hinault (28 wins), Eddy Merckx (34 wins), and Mark Cavendish (35 wins). Pogacar's dominance in this edition of the Tour de France suggests he is on track to potentially challenge these records in the future.

The UAE Team Emirates rider attacked on the final climb, the Col du Haag, distancing his rivals. He finished 38 seconds ahead of his teammate Isaac del Toro and Paul Seixas. Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel finished further behind, allowing Pogacar to significantly extend his overall lead. He now holds a 4 minute and 30-second advantage over Vingegaard and 5 minutes and 4 seconds over Evenepoel, who remains in third place.

In the youth classification, 19-year-old Paul Seixas moved into fourth place overall and claimed the white jersey as the best young rider, overtaking Juan Ayuso. Tom Pidcock dropped to ninth overall after struggling on the final climb.
