Polat Couple's Lawyer Detained in Illegal Betting and Money Laundering Probe

Haydar Enes Çetinkaya, one of the lawyers for the controversial Dilan and Engin Polat couple, has been detained as part of a new legal process. The detention is linked to an ongoing investigation into allegations of illegal betting and money laundering.

Çetinkaya had previously been taken into custody in 2023 during the widely publicized operation targeting the Polat couple. At that time, the couple and their associates faced charges including organizing a criminal group, illegal betting, money laundering, and tax evasion. Çetinkaya was released after providing his statement to the police during that investigation.

More recently, Haydar Enes Çetinkaya's name gained public attention following the death of social media phenomenon Kübra Aykut in 2024. Aykut died after falling from the fifth floor of her home, and it was later revealed that Çetinkaya was her boyfriend.
