Police and citizens rescue 8-year-old girl trapped under SUV wheel

An 8-year-old girl was rescued after her leg became trapped under the wheel of an SUV in Gwangju, South Korea. The incident occurred in the pilotis parking lot of a multi-family housing building.

The driver of the SUV, a person in their 40s, reportedly did not see the girl who was sitting down as they entered the parking lot. Although the driver stopped the vehicle immediately after the accident, the child's leg was already pinned beneath the wheel.

Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene and, with the help of approximately 10 citizens, managed to lift the vehicle to free the girl. She was transported to a hospital where she is being treated for abrasions. Authorities stated that her injuries are not life-threatening.

Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident with the driver. The incident highlights the quick response and community cooperation that led to the child's safe rescue.
