Police arrest 13 for robbery, vandalism, illegal firearms in Abia

During the operations, police recovered a significant cache of exhibits. These include one locally made pistol, one locally made single-barrel gun, two live cartridges, a Beretta pistol, and one pump-action gun. Other seized items comprise six additional live cartridges, a cutlass, an axe, substances suspected to be hard drugs, walkie-talkies, a face mask, two red berets, and one black beret.

Williams Ifeanyi, 27, was apprehended after allegedly accosting a victim at gunpoint and dispossessing them of belongings, with a pistol and live cartridges recovered. Additionally, John Chigozie, 25, and David Anyaka, 26, were arrested for their involvement in an armed robbery at a hotel, leading to the recovery of a pistol and live ammunition.

Similarly, leveraging on actionable intelligence, operatives of the Urratta Divisional Police Station arrested John Chigozie 25 years old and David Anyaka 26 years old who were involved in an armed robbery incident at a hotel in Aba on 01/08/2026. A pistol and live ammunition were recovered.
