Police arrest 147 suspects, recover 250 cartridges, machetes in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended 147 suspects during a coordinated raid on criminal hideouts across the state. The operation, dubbed Operation KO S’AYE III, aims to dismantle criminal dens and eliminate safe havens for offenders.

Exhibits recovered include: 250 expanded cartridges, 2 knives, 1 lighter, 5 battle axes, 1 scissors, assorted charms, 22 machetes, substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The raid, conducted on Sunday, July 19, 2026, targeted areas including Boolar and Super Ile-Epo. Operatives recovered a significant cache of items, including 250 expanded cartridges, knives, battle axes, scissors, assorted charms, and 22 machetes. Substances suspected to be Indian hemp were also seized.

All the suspects are currently in Police custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their individual culpability. Those found to have committed criminal offences will be prosecuted accordingly.
