Police arrest four officers in viral extortion video

Ondo State police have arrested four officers after a video showing them allegedly extorting money from a motorist went viral. The incident occurred along the Ijebu-Ode–Ore–Benin Expressway.

The arrested officers have been identified as ASP Elomore Sodayo, Inspector Adefila Adewale, Inspector Olorunfemi Opeyemi, and Inspector Odusola Peter. Their identities were released by the Ondo Police Command.

State Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu stated that the command has zero tolerance for indiscipline and unprofessional conduct. He announced that a comprehensive investigation has been ordered to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and the extent of each officer's involvement.

Ohagwu reiterated that the Nigeria Police Force is a disciplined institution and will not condone any actions that undermine public confidence or bring the force into disrepute. He assured the public that any officer found guilty would face disciplinary measures, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and adherence to the Force's Code of Conduct.
