Police arrest main suspect in Tangier knife-point robberies and attacks

Police in Tangier have arrested an 18-year-old suspected of leading a series of attacks and robberies involving bladed weapons in the Al-Morabit and Al-Aouama neighborhoods.

The arrest followed the circulation of videos on social media showing several people carrying bladed weapons and attacking a house in Al-Aouama. The footage prompted specialized security services to analyze the images and investigate the identities of those shown, as well as the circumstances surrounding the alleged acts.

The investigation led police to identify several suspects. Judicial police from the Beni Makada security district then located and arrested the main suspect, who was reportedly hiding with other people suspected of being connected to the incidents.

The operation forms part of security efforts to respond to attacks and robberies involving bladed weapons, according to the available information.
