Police arrest suspected drug dealer and seize illicit drugs in Delta

Police in Delta State have arrested a 40-year-old woman suspected of drug peddling and recovered several quantities of illicit drugs from her residence in Agbor.

Bright Edafe, the state police spokesperson, said operatives from the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit in Ubulu-Uku carried out the arrest on Sept. 6. The operation followed what police described as credible intelligence about suspected drug sales in the area.

Officers executed a search warrant at the woman’s home in Agbor-Obi, where they recovered suspected Swinol, Tramadol, Codeine, Canadian Loud and weeds believed to be Indian hemp, Edafe said.

The suspect and the recovered items remained in police custody while the investigation continued. Edafe also quoted Delta Commissioner of Police Samuel Erale as urging residents to provide information that could help prevent crime across the state. Residents were advised to contact their nearest police station or the command’s control room.
