Police arrest three robbery suspects in Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has announced the arrest of three suspected armed robbers in Ibadan, the state capital. The suspects were apprehended in the Sabo-Mokola area following credible intelligence gathered by the command's Monitoring Unit.

The Oyo State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its sustained efforts to rid the state of violent crimes with the arrest of three suspected armed robbers and the recovery of a firearm and ammunition.

During a coordinated raid on the suspects' hideout, operatives recovered a single-barrel, locally made cut-to-size gun and seven cartridges. The arrested individuals have been identified as Tomiwa Ayomide, 28; Haruna Kabiru, 32; and Haruna Hassan, also known as “Malo”, 32.

Acting on credible intelligence regarding the activities of suspected armed robbers operating from a hideout within the Sabo-Mokola area of Ibadan, operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit conducted a coordinated raid on the identified apartment in the early hours of the day.

According to DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Police Command, the suspects are currently in custody. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain their involvement in other criminal activities and to apprehend any potential accomplices. The command reiterated its commitment to combating violent crimes and protecting lives and property within the state, urging residents to continue providing crucial information.
