Police Arrest Two Suspects, Seize 93 Kg of Marijuana in Medan

Authorities in Medan, North Sumatra, have intercepted a significant drug trafficking operation, arresting two individuals and confiscating 93 kilograms of dried marijuana. The large seizure is a result of ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution in the region.

The operation, led by the Medan City Police's Narcotics Investigation Unit, involved a chase through the streets of Medan. Police pursued a vehicle suspected of transporting narcotics before forcing it to stop. The suspects, identified as K (30) and AR (19), both from Aceh, were apprehended after a brief attempt to evade capture.

This latest bust is a direct follow-up to an earlier raid conducted in early August at a drug den located near the railway tracks in Tembung. During that initial operation, police seized 3 kilograms of marijuana and arrested three other individuals. Information gathered from those arrests led police to the larger shipment.

According to police, the 93 kilograms of marijuana were transported from Aceh, a province known as a source for cannabis in Indonesia. The drugs were destined for distribution in the Tembung area of Medan. Police are continuing their investigation and are pursuing other individuals believed to be involved in the network.
