Police chase ends in crash in Montevideo’s Colón neighborhood, trapping passenger in van

Firefighters rescued a man who became trapped inside a van after a crash during an alleged police pursuit in Montevideo’s Colón neighborhood.

The collision occurred at Lanús and Carlos Ott, according to Telenoche, which El País said confirmed the incident with firefighters. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot after the crash, while his passenger remained trapped inside.

Firefighters carried out an extraction operation and eventually removed the man from the vehicle. An emergency medical team treated the injured passenger at the scene.
