Police chief among three arrested for violence in Hidalgo

Authorities in Hidalgo have arrested three individuals described as "generators of violence" in Villa de Tezontepec, one of whom held the position of shift police chief. The arrests followed simultaneous raids conducted by federal and state forces on Thursday, targeting properties in the Benito Juárez and Morelos neighborhoods.

During the operations, law enforcement seized 563 doses of marijuana and 186 doses of crystal methamphetamine. A motorcycle lacking identification and cell phone equipment were also confiscated. These locations were reportedly used for drug storage and dealing, according to the Secretariat of Security.

Governor Julio Menchaca stated that criminal groups will not be allowed to control any region within the state. He emphasized the importance of coordination with authorities in the State of Mexico, given Villa de Tezontepec's proximity to that entity. The governor acknowledged that certain municipalities pose security challenges due to criminal group mobility but affirmed ongoing efforts to prevent their establishment.
