Police Fatally Shoot Alleged Domestic Violence Perpetrator in Brisbane

A man is dead after being shot by police responding to a domestic violence incident in Narangba, north of Brisbane. The Queensland Police Ethical Standards Command is now investigating the fatal shooting.

Officers were called to a residence in Narangba shortly after midnight on Sunday following reports of a domestic violence incident. Upon arrival, they encountered a man who was allegedly armed with a firearm and making threats.

According to police statements, the man continued to make threats towards officers while holding the weapon. In response, an officer discharged their firearm, striking the man.

Immediate first aid and resuscitation efforts were administered by officers at the scene, but the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. No other individuals were reported injured during the incident. The Crime and Corruption Commission will provide oversight for the ongoing investigation into the shooting.
