Police find firearm and 28 rounds in a man’s home in Tauragė

Police found an unidentified firearm and 28 rounds of ammunition at a man’s home on M. Mažvydo Street in Tauragė, Lithuania.

The weapon and ammunition were discovered at about 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 31. Authorities opened a pretrial investigation into suspected illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Under the cited provision of Lithuania’s Criminal Code, unauthorized manufacture, acquisition, possession, carrying, transport, transfer, use or sale of firearms, ammunition, explosives or explosive materials can bring a fine, restriction of liberty, arrest or up to five years in prison.
