Police Issue Detailed Instructions for Thompson Concert in Šibenik

Authorities are preparing for a large influx of attendees for the Marko Perković Thompson concert at Šubićevac Stadium in Šibenik on August 4. The Šibenik-Knin Police Department has released comprehensive guidelines for citizens and visitors, anticipating significant traffic increases on local roads and approach routes, including major highways. To manage the expected crowds, temporary traffic control measures will be enacted based on security assessments and visitor flow. Certain roads will be completely closed to traffic, with exceptions only for emergency vehicles. Ulica Đure Đakovića will be closed from August 3 to 4, reopening only after the concert concludes and attendees have dispersed. Additional closures are planned for August 4 and 5 on streets including Ulica bana Josipa Jelačića and parts of the D8 state road. Special bus routes will operate through Dubrava during nighttime hours. The city of Šibenik, in collaboration with utility companies, has arranged extra parking at TEF, Podi, and Mandalina. Drivers are advised to use specific parking areas based on their direction of travel. For those merely passing through the Šibenik area, using the A1 highway or alternative routes via the Prgomet junction is recommended. Residents and tourists in Šibenik are urged to utilize public transport due to anticipated vehicle congestion. Police are also strongly appealing to drivers to refrain from drinking and driving, adhere to traffic regulations, and promptly form emergency service corridors if traffic stops occur. Increased caution and reduced speeds are requested after the concert due to the large number of pedestrians expected on roadways. Police will be audio and video recording the event area.
