Police nab 26 suspects in Katsina security raid

In a significant move to curb rising crime, the Katsina State Police Command has successfully apprehended 26 individuals suspected of being social miscreants. This decisive action, carried out through an intelligence-led operation in the early hours of April 14, 2026, targeted known criminal dens within the Katsina metropolis, demonstrating the command's commitment to ensuring public safety.

In a sustained effort to tackle the activities of social miscreants terrorising the Katsina Metropolis, the Katsina State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough with the arrest of 26 suspected social miscreants during an intelligence-led operation.

The operation, spearheaded by the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, resulted in the arrest of suspects involved in various illicit activities, including gang membership, unlawful societies, and public nuisance. The recovery of incriminating items such as live ammunition, various weapons, suspected stolen mobile phones, and illicit substances underscores the gravity of the criminal enterprises being disrupted.

On April 14th, 2026, at about 0200 hrs, the officer-in-charge of SWAT led a team of operatives on a coordinated operation across identified criminal hideouts and black spots within the metropolis.

Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, CP Ali Umar Fage, lauded the operatives for their professionalism and reiterated the command's unwavering resolve to combat all forms of criminality.
