Police question actress Davina Karamoy in umrah travel fraud case

Indonesian actress Davina Karamoy has been summoned by the Metro Jaya Regional Police to provide testimony as a witness in an alleged fraud and embezzlement case involving umrah travel packages offered by PT Khazanah Tamma Internasional, also known as Hanania Group.

Kompol Andaru Rahutomo, head of the Public Relations Sub-division of the Public Relations Division of the Regional Police, confirmed Karamoy's presence at the police headquarters on Thursday afternoon. He stated that the examination was ongoing and details of the specific information sought from the actress were not immediately disclosed.

The witness examination of a public figure in the Hanania Travel case today is in the name of Davina Karamoy.

Previously, police had named Ahmad Syah Farhan, the CEO of Hanania Group, as a suspect in the case on May 29. Farhan has since been detained. The investigation revealed that funds collected from prospective pilgrims were allegedly used for purposes unrelated to organizing the umrah trips. Furthermore, the suspect reportedly used some of these funds to pay influencers for promoting the travel packages.

This case has seen several other public figures, including Thariq Halilintar and his wife Aaliyah, Paula Verhoeven, Praz Teguh, Roger Danuarta, and his wife Cut Meyriska, previously questioned by investigators. The charges against Farhan include violations of the Indonesian Criminal Code concerning fraud and embezzlement.

The person concerned was present at the Sub-directorate of State Security at Polda Metro Jaya at 13:00 WIB and is currently still undergoing examination by investigators.
