Police studies center publishes 48 books since its inauguration

Indonesia’s Police Studies Center has published 48 books since its inauguration on March 10, 2026, expanding an academic tradition within the Indonesian National Police.

The center, inaugurated by Deputy Chief of the Indonesian National Police Dedi Prasetyo, has supported discussions, seminars and research, while also producing written work for police education and practice. Its books address policing, law, criminology, security, community policing, human resources, technology, digital policing, social issues and national development.

Experts and academics have reviewed some of the books in scholarly forums. These discussions are intended to test ideas, broaden perspectives and connect the publications with the needs of the organization and police work in the field.

Several reviewed books were written by Dedi Prasetyo, including “Police Technology: Automation in the Dynamics of Modern Security,” “The Spirit of Bhayangkara Nusantara: Protecting Women and Children in the Digital Era,” “Recruitment, Meritocracy and Technology,” “The Gamification of Violence in Modern Terror in the Digital Era,” and “Safeguarding Food, Reaping Security.” The last book was co-written with Anwar and Susilo Teguh Raharjo.

The center is intended to do more than host discussions. Its stated role is to connect problems identified in the field with academic studies that can offer recommendations for the organization.
