Police to Question Febrio Adianto in Sutrimo Death Case

Polda Metro Jaya will question Febrio Adianto, the person reportedly involved in taking Sutrimo’s body from Mordent Clinic to Muhammadiyah Hospital. The move follows a request from Sutrimo’s family to examine several additional witnesses in the investigation into his death.

Polda Metro Jaya public relations chief Budi Hermanto said investigators would call the proposed witnesses in stages. He confirmed that Febrio was among the names the family had submitted for questioning. “Yes, he is one of the people we will examine,” Budi said.

Investigators are still waiting for the Forensic Laboratory’s findings. Budi said the results would be released soon by forensic laboratory and forensic medicine doctors together with the director of general criminal investigations. The tests include examinations of tissue, DNA and substances discovered during the case.

Police previously exhumed Sutrimo’s body in Wlahar village, Wangon district, Banyumas, Central Java, on Aug. 12. Budi said the exhumation formed part of the investigation and involved cooperation between Polda Metro Jaya, the Central Java police and Banyumas police. Investigators have questioned 27 witnesses, including ambulance drivers, hospital personnel, body-washing workers, local residents, relatives, a friend, a village official and people connected to a report filed with the National Police Criminal Investigation Department.

The case has also included a dispute over Sutrimo’s reported role. Former deputy attorney general for special crimes Febrie Adriansyah denied claims that Sutrimo served as a household head. Febrie’s lawyer, Firman Wijaya, said Sutrimo mainly guarded an empty house and lived there.
